There's a new opportunity to own a more sustainably built home in the Fort Collins area. This exciting new project features 10 lots in a great location just northwest of Old Town. Named Midori, Japanese for "green", the neighborhood incorporates sustainability, aesthetics and a true sense of community into a carefully crafted, pedestrian-friendly living environment.

Lot reservations are now being taken, with the project breaking ground in summer of 2009. And, reception for the project has been fantastic so far. The developer, EcoSphere Investments, LLC, already has reservations on 50% of the lots.

One of the major design goals for Midori is to create a neighborhood conceived as green from the ground up. A key objectives is to minimize the homes' footprint on the land, reducing hardscape and preserving existing trees. Another important component is to create a true community feel, reflected in the plan for homes which face a common green with walking paths and back-loaded garages.

Buyers can choose from a variety of semi-custom floor plans from Blue Stone Homes, or work with a custom home builder, provided they are able to build according to high performance, green building standards.
