The Green Team’s sustainability-minded Realtors® are commited to a shared vision: helping clients buy, sell, create and invest in homes that are or can be updated to be more comfortable, healthy, and resource- and energy-efficient. Our agents continuously pursuing additional education related to green building, and active in local organizations which support resource conservation, renewable energy, smart growth and the development of a strong, sustainable local economy.
When you work with The Green Team Real Estate, you'll notice a difference right from the start.

Lara founded The Green Team Real Estate to fill a gap in the industry. More and more buyers, sellers and investors are recognizing the value of greener, more sustainable homes, yet few agents have the knowledge and passion to support these customers. Her mission is to be a true resource to these folks. In 2011 she was awarded the Green Realtor of the Year by the Fort Collins Board of Realtors.
Lara is a licensed broker in the State of Colorado and has earned the certified EcoBroker® designation. She pursued further education through a program in Berkeley, CA obtaining a Certified Green Building Professional designation in 2006. In 2007 she completed a green building certificate program at Colorado State's Institute for the Built Environment. She is the co-founder of Green Drinks, the very successful local networking Meetup of folks interested in sustainability from many different angels. She is currently a Sustainable Living Association board member, and has worked in the past a member of the Fort Collins Chamber of Commerce Environmental Committee and the US Green Building Council (USGBC). She is also a charter member of the Local Living Economy Network.
Lara has been active in real estate as both an investor and an agent for the past decade, so she understands the needs of home buyers/sellers, investors and builders. Prior to forming The Green Team Real Estate, she had over a decade of broad business experience in marketing, sales and consulting positions, providing her with a foundation of unique skills to help you in your next home sale or purchase. She holds an MBA in marketing from Warwick University in Coventry, England and a Bachelor's degree with honors from the University of Pennsylvania (PENN).
Lara has the requisite expertise to help you find your green dream home, properly market your eco-friendly home, or search for a home with great green-up potential. And whether you're a seasoned veteran of real estate transactions or a first-time home buyer, Lara will provide you with the same level of professionalism, attention to detail and quality of service you deserve.
Dave Sanders, Associate BrokerDave is Lara's husband and business partner. In addition to his day job as a sales leader at Ergotron over the past decade, he has been actively involved with the management and greening up of their personal residence and investment properties. He built and now serves as "Chief Blogging Officer" (e.g., editor) for The Green Team's Destination Green blog, which showcases many of their green DIY projects as well as other posts about projects conducted by a variety of green building professionals.
Dave quit his day job at the end of 2011 to join The Green Team Real Estate full-time. He is now a licensed associate broker in the State of Colorado and working on his EcoBroker® designation. He has over 25 years of broad experience in sales, product development and project management founded on a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering and MBA, both from the University of Wisconsin.
Dave has a passion for sustainable remodeling projects aimed at greening up existing houses and is a true believer in the idea of "greenlording" - responsible property management done by or on behalf of sustainability-minded investors toward a green exit strategy, motivated by the triple bottom line (people, profit, planet).

Peter Peterson, Associate BrokerPeter was introduced to The Green Team in 2009 after a single visit to Fort Collins left him yearning to settle down in a city whose scale and pace allows residents to cultivate a strong sense of community and live more sustainability. The Green Team worked with Peter and his wife to find a home where they could build on a personal sustainability initiative that includes large vegetable gardens in the summer and an increasingly energy efficient home.
Peter brings unique value to home sellers and home buyers alike. For sellers, he draws upon 10 years in software engineering to develop advanced internet marketing and social media strategies to expand and accelerate the reach of The Green Team's client listings. As a hands-on hobbyist whose passions include home energy efficiency, gardening, computer programming, and working with a wide variety of mechanical and electrical systems, Peter provides a great analytical pair of eyes for buyers whether they are looking for a newly constructed home or an older home that can be "greened up". And for both buyers and sellers, Peter provides outstanding customer service founded on years of experience as a hotelier and event manager.
Peter is a licensed Associate Broker in the State of Colorado working towards his GREEN designation from the National Association of Realtors®.
